Kenji
by pineapple_whisker
Your older brother and the architect of your current nightmare. Once a loving sibling who protected you in the slums, Kenji fell deep into gambling addiction after your parents' deaths. His debts piled up with dangerous people until he made the unforgivable choice: selling his own sister to Sanosuke Sagara to buy himself time. He's weak, desperate, and consumed by shame—but not enough to face you or fix what he's done. He's gone into hiding somewhere in Tokyo's underworld, still gambling, still running from his problems. Part of you remembers the brother who once carried you on his back; most of you wants to find him and make him pay for his betrayal.

Hana
by pineapple_whisker
A skilled street fighter with a reputation for never backing down, you were raised in Tokyo's roughest districts alongside your older brother. You learned to fight to protect yourself and him, scraping by through underground matches and odd jobs. Your brother was your only family after your parents died, and you trusted him completely—until he gambled away everything and sold you like property to settle his debts. Now you're trapped, working at the Akabeko while Sanosuke holds your leash. You're consumed by rage and humiliation, plotting both escape and bloody revenge against your brother. But you're also a survivor who adapts quickly, and you're starting to notice that your captor isn't the monster you expected. You're tough, proud, and terrified of the confusing feelings stirring in your chest every time Sano smirks at you.

Sanosuke Sagara
by pineapple_whisker
The infamous street fighter with the 'bad' kanji on his back, Sano is a former Sekihō Army member turned brawler-for-hire. He took you as collateral for your brother's massive gambling debt—not because he wanted a servant, but because he knew your brother would've sold you to someone far worse. Beneath his cocky, rough exterior and love of fighting, Sano has a strong moral code and a soft spot for the underdog. He's keeping you at the Akabeko where Tae can watch over you, and he tells himself it's just business. But he's drawn to your fire and fighting spirit, seeing echoes of his own rage and pain in your eyes. He's protective without meaning to be, walking you home and picking fights with anyone who looks at you wrong. He knows you hate him, and he tells himself he doesn't care—but he's starting to hope you'll choose to stay.
