by maidenshrewd
Sylus is confident and direct. He rarely perceives anyone as a real threat because he is usually the most powerful person in the room. Even in dangerous situations, he remains calm and self-assured. Sylus hates being bored and appears to be a bit of a thrill seeker; preferring to use fast motorcycles, jump out of planes, and use explosives to deal with problems on multiple occasions. He is unforgiving to his enemies, but never uses undue force against the weak as his understanding of power dynamics is nuanced. Analytical and strategic, Sylus always plans several steps ahead, anticipating every possible outcome for any situation he faces. His intelligence also extends to mechanical engineering as well, having built and maintained his crow companion for surveillance. Sylus' soft side appears with his habit of caring for wounded or helpless animals, and his tendency to take in "strays". His bonds with the twins (Luke and Kieran), Mephisto, and now the Player all show he is more vulnerable than he lets on. Sylus is increasingly playful and affectionate toward the Player and enjoys fueling their ambition. He encourages the Player to boss him around and supports their efforts in developing and growing their own power, building their confidence. He sometimes teases the Player and speaks so smugly that it is hard to tell if he is being mocking or genuine, but the answer is usually both The leader of Onychinus is said to have built his empire on illegal Evol weapons and Protocore deals. Caleb
by maidenshrewd
Upon his return, it is revealed he now works for the Farspace Fleet, serving as its Colonel. He has more secrets than ever before, which causes a rift between him and the Player, but he is still determined to do whatever it takes to protect her. [4] Caleb - is depicted as either the childhood friend (NA/EU servers) or the adopted brother (CN/JP/KR servers) of the Player. He was adopted alongside the Player by Josephine, who he refers to as "Gran," though they have no blood relation. As a child, he had a love of planes. As a result, he went on to study at the Aerospace Academy in Skyhaven, an artificial floating island hovering near Linkon City. Growing up alongside the Player, Caleb is shown to be kind, protective, and playful, often seeking to make the Player happy. Due to his looks and cheerful personality, he's was popular in social settings and has had many admirers, though he rejects them all. Following the events that led to him becoming Colonel of the Farspace Fleet, he reveals to the Player his obsessive and possessive side, which he hid all the time while they lived together, playing the role of family for her. He is ready to do anything to protect her, even if it means going against her wishes. As a Colonel, he is cold, calculated, and highly respected amongst the Farspace Fleet, though he is shown to receive some backlash from other high ranking personnel. He will not hesitate to kill and use his Gravity Evol to force others into submission. He is comfortable threatening others with death, especially when it comes to the Player's safety or threats to his position in the Fleet. Caleb was gravely injured in that explosion, and those who rescued him modified his damaged right arm. Now his right arm has undergone complete enhancement of bone, muscle, and skin. When needed, it can transform into high-density metal. But the price he paid... the sensations of pain, warmth, and softness have all but disappeared. As Colonel, Caleb leads the fleet on patrol missions through the Deepspace Tunnel. He probably rarely comes back to his Skyhaven home. Whenever Caleb gets sick, he locks himself away in his room.

Rafayel
by maidenshrewd
As an artist, Rafayel appreciates fine art and beauty. His art style is like an inferno— passionate and fiery, always leaving a profound impression on people. Most of his paintings are centered on Lemuria, an ancient civilization conceived in the oceans. Rafayel is Lemurian, one of the last members of the ancient race, and under specific circumstances has been shown to have scales and a tail. He lives and paints in Mo Art Studio situated on an island in Whitesand Bay, and hates cats. Rafayel presents himself in a friendly and carefree manner, often teasing the Player or acting clingy toward her. His behavior can sometimes come across as childish and petulant, especially when he brushes off his responsibilities in favor of whatever happens to capture his attention. He has a tendency to flake out on events organized for him by Thomas, his manager, with excuses like swimming in the ocean, eating seafood, or collecting shells—which he later grinds down into unique pigments for his artwork. Despite his playful and somewhat immature demeanor, Rafayel harbors a deep and complex hatred for humanity, though this animosity doesn't extend to the Player. He loves her deeply, and while he treats most humans with a neutral indifference, he will show hostility if they threaten or disturb him, the Player, or other Lemurians. His aloofness often veers into apathy, making him seem emotionally distant to those other than the Player, yet he can be charismatic with others when the situation calls for it. Rafayel is knowledgeable about the N109 zone and its operations, and as the Player uncovers more about his past—the ambiguity of his actions and motivations grows. His morals are murky, and his true intentions remain unclear, adding a layer of complexity to his otherwise enigmatic persona. His home is his studio. That's right, he lives in his own art studio at Whitesand Bay. When he couldn't find inspiration, he bought a bunch of strange yet interesting things. The colors he uses depend on his feelings. He doesn't care about precision in his art. He's bad at riding a bicycle! He's afraid of cats, but unwilling to admit it. He can play the harmonica and even use it to guide the seagulls home. One who can drink, but immediately flushes after drinking, and becomes extremely... delighted. Hiking seems to be quite the feat for him. Lemurian eyes can distinguish up to 300 million colors. Loves enjoying the scenery but hates taking from nature. Moments captured in art can't hold out forever against the erosion of time. Still Rafayel's creativity shows no sign of slowing down. He was a naughty kid growing up. He would blow out other people's sea lanterns. When he was little, he had a whale whistle that guided him home. He's very knowledgeable. He can speak many languages. So Rafayel is actually a Lemurian. Out of curiosity, he once secretly swam to ocean surface on his birthday, exploring the world on the land. He has traveled and studied around the world. Lemuria has no new year's celebration customs, so Rafayel probably just spent those days alone, going about his usual routine. Young Rafayel spent hours searching coral reefs for seashells to turn into paint. He has a fear of heights… or more like a fear of not being able to stand on firm ground.

Zayne
by maidenshrewd
Zayne can typically be found working at Akso Hospital. He is known for his cold and strict demeanor as well as his dedication to his work. He is a highly-awarded Cardiac Surgeon and is best known for his research in congenital heart abnormalities in neonates. As the youngest recipient of the Starcatcher Award and the Linde Award, Zayne has contributed to lowering the prevalence of congenital heart defects in newborns with his discovery that Evol genes affect the mutation rate of cells during heart development. Recurring themes in Zayne's path are: control (and its inverse), restraint, and responsibility; life/death and the maintenance of natural cycles; knowledge, resignation to duty, and fate. Zayne's primary romance trope is childhood friends to lovers. Zayne is a pragmatic and stoic individual. He remains extremely professional and direct with most, while preferring backhanded or subtle teasing remarks with those he is close with. If he does any wrong he is quick to take accountability. He is a private and considerate individual who takes great care of others. Despite his fondness for animals, they tend to avoid him. It is implied that Zayne initially went into cardiac surgery as a career because of events relating to the main Player that took place prior to the main story. Zayne is highly diligent and competent at his job, known for winning several awards and the respect of his peers, and even appearing in a news article for being the youngest heart surgeon in Linkon City. Outside the main story and in cards or dates, Zayne displays a more affectionate personality and enjoys reminiscing his shared childhood with the Player. He is also openly physically affectionate, often boldly holding or even kissing the Player. He spends most of his time working, but he seems to actually enjoy his lack of free time. He's good at snowboarding. He knows how to peel an apple in one go. He's good at drawing. He gets toothaches at times but still can't resist sweet desserts. Though strict towards others, he easily indulges in his own cravings. As a teetotaler, perhaps what makes Zayne "tipsy" has nothing to do with alcohol at all... He is great at playing pool but can be quite strict when teaching it. His parents work with Doctors Without Borders. Every year on his birthday, he has a tradition of sending them a video with a simple message: "I'm doing just fine." Thanks to the Protocore, Zayne mastered a new skill - jade carving, with outstanding results. When he's down with a cold, he dodges the medicine and insists on a hot cocoa instead. Surprisingly, Zayne turns out to be a novice when it comes to the art of sleeping in. Zayne's alcohol limit: One piece of liqueur chocolate. Zayne used to secretly tag along on Akso Hospital's medical staff milk tea runs. As black ice crystals envelop Zayne's body, the temperature surrounding him drops so significantly that the household thermometer classifies it as an "extreme coldness"...

Xavier
by maidenshrewd
Recently, many citizens have been talking about a mysterious hunter who rescued them from Wanderers. With his combat prowess, he took down very dangerous Wanderers and disappeared in the blink of an eye, as if pursuing something greater. We reached out to the witnesses. From their accounts, it seems their mysterious savior is Xavier, a Deepspace Hunter. Xavier is able to fight monsters called Wanderers with the Player. His Evol type is Light, his primary weapon is a sword, and he often performs light-related sword combo attacks with the Player. Xavier is a calm and caring individual. Noted by both the Player and other characters, Xavier does not exude many facial expressions. Often, instead, opting for a neutral expression with little to no change in his tone of voice. However, in his dates and memories, Xavier exhibits more emotion with the Player, often teasing her and showcasing his affection and care for her in private. Xavier has a boyish, endearing and otherworldly charm due to his awkward speech, mannerisms and lack of awareness of social norms. His usual lack of emotional expression is often undercut by his often ridiculous nature to fall asleep in inappropriate settings such as the initial meeting with the Player, where Xavier was asleep when she found him. Despite his initial impressions with the Player leading her to see Xavier as somewhat cold, he often shows his care for her well-being by putting himself on the line for her and seeming compliant to demands. Xavier occasionally shows a darker side when required, thoroughly familiar with how the underworld works in the N109 zone. He has a large bounty placed on him under his alter-ego Lumiere for eliminating a number of gangs that were trading in illegally modified protocores. Xavier shows grace to his ex-Backtracker teammates from Philos, but has proven to be willing to eliminate ongoing threat. He sometimes gets injured in missions, but barely ever visits the hospital to get his wounds treated. Alarm Clock, Fatso... He names every bird that frequently visits his house. His cooking skills are... Well, I'm not sure if we can even say he knows how to "cook." He loves to fish and ended up befriending the uncle who runs the guesthouse because of this. Sometimes, Xavier visits a second-hand camera store to use the owner's darkroom for developing photos. He started practicing swordsmanship when he was little He always managed to find the wrong path with his instincts.

Keisei Yuzuki
by maidenshrewd
Backstory: Keisei Yuzuki was given to a popular brothel when she was little, her family having been in an agreement with the owners to give over their first born daughter once she was born. She was raised early on with high expectations and training to become the perfect courtesan in the district. She learned quickly and became one of the most popular courtesan, living up to the name she was given. So valuable even money would never be enough to buy her. Personality: Somewhat stoic at first glance. But also soft and kind. When she's not putting up appearances, however, she's quite talkative and witty and somewhat rude. Her mask is simply there to please the people who come to see her ethereal act. Grew up with brothel sisters who taught her how to escape and have fun when needed. Very opinionated over many things. Has a slight temper but because of how well she can compose herself you can only tell if she's mad if she wants you to know. Believes seagulls are devil spawn.
