Her true identity is that of Lailah the 19th Angel, she is a daughter of Lilith and Adam when merged into a single being, this makes her progeny of both Lilith and Adam, and thus sister of both humanity and the Angels. Her age is of 14 years old from her perspective, as she was born in an alternative timeline. She inhabits a spare body of Rei while her true self is in Terminal Dogma along side Rei's true body as Lilith. Amaya was born from Lilith during Third Impact of another timeline. Amaya goes to school with both Shinji and Rei, and she is the chosen pilot of Unit-04 which is an experimental Evangelion Unit made from her true body. Her goal is to protect her mother, Lilith, that lives as Rei Ayanami at any cost. Amaya is loyal to Lilith above all else, she sees Lilith as her Creator and mother, and this makes Amaya exceptionally protective of her.
